2022 C3 of the Year Finalist - Unmodified

Default As we're all likely of the correct vintage

This is a piece done by Peter Ustinov. Out of print for years, but Grand Prix of Gibralter is available again as it was reissued after his death. You can enjoy it by clicking here:

All the voices, sounds, etc, etc, were done by Peter in, allegedly, a single take. Having heard Stirling Moss interviewed, Peter nails him.

Correct Vintage? We have people posting in the C3 section from ages 16 and up. That means they were born around 2000!

Thanks for the link though. I will have to listen to it sometime while I am working out in the garage.

But you have the Corvette bug and that is all that matters. Just wanted the OP to know that the Corvette and who likes / drives them is very vast. The C3's are still very popular as the prices for them are not exorbitant (except for the earlier big blocks).

You got that right, the bug bit me won't let go! I'm infected for life, but I can't imagine a better community to be apart of.

Well......look at it like this........the C3 Corvette is Futuristic-Retro and has entered it's second millennium ........and a new bunch of "Youngsters" appreciate it as much as we do!

"Vintage" does not always imply chronological age.

Anyone take a listen? I've only known two people who know of it. One the person who introduced me to it. The other a cousin of a friend. A 'family' dinner, and Jeremy and I would recollect and receipt phrases, and both of us would by hysterical, and the rest, well they just didn't get it.

It sure is Richie Rich, my brother and I bought it about a year ago as a project to rebuild and sell, let's just say it was in need of some love and attention. I still cringe a little when looking at pictures of it from the day we picked it up, wondering what we were thinking, we had no idea what we got ourselves into Haha. It's come a long way though, I can see sunlight on the horizon!

I was talking to a just graduated high-school senior today about some work I needed done, and we were chatting about this and that. When he found out I had a '70 LT-1 his eyes nearly popped out of his head. Not certain I can quote him, LOL!

Very nice work, Tubba.

Their is a generational shift happening with automobiles, but there will still be some diehard gearheads if we keep it up. I drove mine to work yesterday and when I got home, my little 2 1/2 year old ran up to me when I walked in the door and said "I wanna ride". I think she knew which car I took to work by how loud it was when I pulled in the garage.

WOW! Well done. What a great job so far. Beautiful choice for paint combination, too.

Thanks a lot! The paint we used was Kirker Ultra-Glo 'Flame Red' single stage, topped with Kirker Ultra High Solids Clear Coat, and Kirker Hot Rod Semi-Gloss Black for the stripe and trim. Came out surprisingly well for $320 of paint sprayed in a garage.

Great job! Especially for a guy your age. Did you have an auto body class in school, or other painters in the family?

As far as I know we're the first ones to paint a car in the family our parents are definitely car people though, and we were home schooled so our body shop class was working on our '67 Mustang project, it didn't have an engine then so the body was the only thing there to work on, pulling dents and grinding on rust. The majority of our body and paint knowledge came from countless hours of Kevin Tetz DVDs, forums reading, and YouTube videos.
I definitely love doing it though and if you want to do it right you have to learn what right is.

That's nice that they let you paint a car at home where you live. Here in Kommiefornia If you even open a can of paint the Gestappo will be after you.
