Default Best vendors for C3 ('72) new trim, felts, interior parts, etc.?

Hi, I'm picking up a '72 roadster tomorrow afternoon (let the fun begin!). I've been watching the parts4sale section of the forum, and checked out a few forum vendors to see what's available. I plan on collecting parts so I can restore the car over the winter. The usual, interior bits, widow repair kits, weather stripping, felts, etc., plus some under hood items, etc.

Just wondering if there are some 'preferred' vendors - did a search and didn't come up with anything. I know we all like to support forum vendors when we can, but I'm not certain that I'm looking at sites that have all the items I need.

Thanks much, Paul

Good luck with the 72 Paul. I just happened to be working on 72's lately by fluke more than anything and have worked with Willcox, Paragon, Zip, and Corvette Central. All have their pluses and minuses depending upon what you are looking for actually. If you want interior aftermarket parts I would stick with Willcox and watch for their sales postings, they offer 10-20% savings for forum members. Some suppliers save you money on parts but charge more for shipping. One or more of them offer a "discount" if you sign up with them to keep you returning for the discount of 10-15%.

If I can help with any specific sourcing I have used and found success with on my 72's let me know, be glad to help.

Best regards,

David Howard

I have some used parts off my 76 like the door gaskets which were only a couple of years old when they were taken off 2 years ago, brand new rear window mold since I put in a removable window, origonal t=top liners(black but paintable) and maybe some other parts like valve covers(orange but like new).

When buying outside window felts for my '73 I had two choices, imported (Chinese) or reproductions. Go with the reproductions, much better quality but still had to massage them to fit, (ZIP).
Good luck and have fun.

Many thanks to each of you - this is why I really like CF. A bunch of really helpful people sharing a passion.

Picked him up today. Wifey said to order whatever I need while it's on sale.

Appreciate the offer very much - it's a vert so it sounds like most of the parts you might have for sale won't work.

vendors are just people too...none perfect but Mr Willcox really gets in where it counts, sure we all want things to go right 100% of the time and when it does many people do not praise it but in those times that things don't go the way one desires I have to say that Mr Willcox is right in there doing what it takes to make things right,

He is always here helping and doesn't push buying from him on people that he is helping, he seems to really care about all this stuff very , very rare now a days and while I do not buy much retail when I do you can be sure I will give him a call....

And keep in mind I could drive over to ecklers and don't.

They even helped correct a mistake that was CLEARLY my error. I own a coupe, but ordered a convertible part. When it came in, it didn`t fit. I gave them a call, and they figured out what happened, and helped me get the right part swapped out.

Tech articles, videos, phone & e-mail tech help....

Same with me. Even WITH shipping costs, I can get stuff from Willcox cheaper than driving 20-some miles to the coast!

Willcox
Thank you, and I'll take you up on that if needed.

My wife this morning: "So, how many thousands of dollars of parts have you ordered". Me: "None yet, I've got to back the car out and make a list". Her: (with a smile on her face) "Oh, good".

I'm a lucky boy!
