All,

Hail from Canada and I am looking at purchasing a corvette in the C3 model era.
I am looking at a 1979 Corvette (haven't looked at it yet) L82. It has automatic, power windows, new paint job (white) and the optional spoilers front and back. States it is all original and 25K Kms. Don't know much more than that.
Going to look at it next week.

Looking for advice from you folks around:
1. Anything I should pay special attention to?
2. Any known issues with the '79 L82?
3. Asking 13K CDN - fair or not?

I will check VIN's for engine codes etc. to make sure its on the up and up.
Would like to check the build sheet - where is it positioned on the Corvette - a place I can get to easily?

Thanks in advance for any helpful tips you can offer.

Always been a Pontiac man - but decided to man up and go Corvette!

At St. Louis, it was taped to the front of the fuel tank, but it is likely to have disappeared years ago.

Looks like a nice car.

The glassed in spoiler would make me start looking at other things... this isnt a simple little add on modification, which tells me they might have done more. Is the white original per the trim tag? What does the engine compartment look like?

PS: if the ad states the car is "all original" with a glassed-in spoiler, I would look at everything else with skepticism, including the mileage.

I'd make sure you get someone familiar with C3s to do a thorough inspection and as ignaz mentioned above read the sticky especially concerning rust https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...-corvette.html
