Default 1969 Astro ventilation plenum drain hose

Has anyone changed one of these hoses with ought removing the interior of their car? this is for the rear deck area drain.
I was thinking of sawing off the old tube plate rivets from the wheel well since it seems possible to get a saw blade in between the backing plate and the tube. Then re rivet from the wheel well area.
One of mine is completely dry rotted
Would save a lot of time.
Thanks for any input!

You shouldn`t have to remove anything from the interior except the clamp on the tube. The tube has a flange on it, and it goes in from the wheel well... so the flange is outside the car car when installed. The steel collar goes over the flange.
You are correct, it will be easier to grind off the rivet heads from the wheel well.

you may find your rubber boot sleeve, with holes in it.
I found the "Plastic Dip" black, to be an excellent repair tool, for this rubber,
specifically this application. leaves no brush marks, almost impossible to see/ detect,
after it is cured.
you can use small nuts and washers and threadlocker, if you do cannot rivet.

The tube is completely dry rotted it just fell apart after squeezing it. thanks for the idea though. looks like it was riveted from the inside out but probably wont matter. going to see if I can get the shield off today.

all done with one side, wasn't that bad to do. the shields were much worse than they looked used a little bondo ,paint on the one side. now for the other side it is probably going to be on it's way out. Since one was so dry rotted I don't think the other could be much better.
