1975 Coupe Restoration
I bought this from Chuck Eifert and want to bring it back to a nice driver.
Come follow along on my journey to take a numbers matching car back to a gorgeous driver.

Good luck. the break around the headlight can be tricky with the steel bar in there and it seems that things never want to line up correctly. Also the header bar under the nose by the hood opening has separated from the top surround and those can be a pain to get something in there to bond them back without ripping it further open.
Overall, it doesn't look like it is that much to get back as a driver.

My 75 is factory original so if you need picts of anything let me know. The tail looks like a 76 as the letters are wrong and too close together for 75. Mine looked alot like yours when I got it.

I was noticing the same thing. The rear "Corvette" emblem looks just like mine on my '76. I think the 74-75 both used the same "wider spaced" letters. You never know though what could have been done after all these years.
Looks like the start to a nice driver though.

So how far down are you going to take it?

That bumper was off of a 77 to get a bumper on it. David has a nice flex fiberglass correct replacement to go on. Along with the correct lettering I need to send down to him.

All the way down to the chassis. I love to work on the chassis' on these cars so this one will be no exception.
Keeping it stock, all the numbers match, that exercise was just completed. Dark Red 74L color, no A/C, no Tilt/Tele, Power Brakes, Power Steering, dual horns. Chuck found the build sheet so documentation tracing has begun.
I will update the pictures soon, but lets just say the work has already begun.

First we pull off the hood, doors, T-Tops, in anticipation of removing the bright red paint.
I'll strip these parts first, then prepare the body for removal from the frame. I have a great body shop that will help me with all the damage and getting the paint back to Dark Red Metallic.
Fun stuff.

I bought a can of bumper cover cleaner and it must have been too strong because after only two applications the bumper disappeared.
Seriously, I just removed the 77 bumper from the 75 project and have offered it as an item for trade if anyone is interested.
I also got the side rocker panels off exposing more fiberglass damage but that's okay, added it to the list and will get it dealt with soon.
Tomorrow I will be stripping the T-Tops, Doors, Hood, and front bumper of paint. Oh boy, can't wait.
More soon.

Doors stripped inside and out removing all bright red paint. Going back to stock dark red.
T-Tops stripped outside, painted inside.
Hood stripped inside and out, painted inside.
