Thanks. When I had the stock rod on there, I put the springs on, but that rod I'm using now doesn't have holes for the springs to go through. I did notice some weird noises at a traffic light earlier so maybe that was it.

If you just rest your foot on the clutch pedal and the rattle noise goes away, thats it. Just dont ride it because you'll burn up the throw out bearing

My pedal doesn't come all the way up to the stop by itself, and the sound I hear is more of a squeaking sound. I hardly ever hear that, and when I do, it stops if I put a little more pressure on the pedal or if I pull the pedal up further. Not too worried about it.
Today I made a plate to cover the hole in the transmission tunnel. I look forward to not having the engine heat and fumes blowing into the interior (although if I leave it the way it is, I won't need to replace my heater core...)

Ya. Its not important but it can be annoying.
There should be a return spring from the firewall to the end of the push rod coming from the pedal

I have that spring installed but for some reason it doesn't always come all the way up. My pedal is up really high when its against the bumper so there's some issues I need to sort out

That's true. I'll need to save up for vintage air once I move to Texas

Looks like my turn signal pivot finally broke tonight. I've been concerned about that since I bought the car because the lever has always been really stiff and have wanted to look into that but I guess now I can't put it off anymore.

I put the center console back together and changed the speedometer gear yesterday morning. I also ordered a new shifter **** today and might go get a shift pattern plate for the center console later this week. I can only drive it for a couple more weeks because my tags are expiring soon and I refuse to give CA $120 (plus another $60 for smog, which it probably won't pass...) when I'm gonna be leaving for Texas at the end of November.

Not a very exciting update, but I put my new shifter **** on today. I need to pull the center console apart again and shim the shifter because I can barely get it to go into reverse because it hits the console.

Looking awesome. Want a tip? When you go to redo the plastic gauge housing and shifter plate, go to the autoparts store and buy some of the "bumper and trim" paint you can get in a rattle can. I did this on a 1985 C4 I had last year and it turned out AWESOME. Made that stuff look literally brand new!

Thanks. I'm not sure, I would assume I would have to have the car there to register it but I never looked into it.

I wouldn't be surprised if you need an address there, but seems to me it would be worth a phone call to the Texas DMV to find out if, and what, you need to do.
