for my 1971 LS5:

Thoughts?
My paint is showing its age but shines up nice.

I'm betting the Camaro will have more potential buyers so if you trade with the intent to sell it soon it may be a good way to go. If I ever decided to get rid of my vette I would go for a trade, that way both parties take equal losses on their vehicles. I will be interested to see what others have to say......

1- I don't think its matching numbers
2- It's just a Camaro, no special option package, other than a nice restore.
I asked for the VIN but will that help from the year 1969?

You would need to see his car in person and evaluate it's condition. In my opinion he is way over priced. I have a good friend that just purchased an excellent '69 Camaro Z28 clone with a 350 and very similar to the ad for $28,000. I've driven the car and it is beautiful. No doubt the '69 Camaro is popular but there are also a lot of them for sale. His car looks nice but it is still a base car with some nice upgrades. I wouldn't trade even. Take a look at the completed sales on eBay and auction results for non SS, non Z28 cars to get a sense of where the market is. I'm partial to Corvettes but I would not make that trade. If your car was a base small block then I would consider it if you desire a Camaro. Good luck.

IMo the hagerty stuff for ins purposes trying to get it is another thing
Mine could probably sell for half appraised value in the real world
50k will get you a pretty nice 69 Z/28 or big block car
Its all up to you op and what floats your boat

I don't really know what the value of Camaros are these days, so I didn't mean to imply that there wouldn't be some cash along with any trade. It just seems to me that Camaros and Chevelles sell faster than Corvettes, but I could be wrong.

Choice is up to you, but my suggestion would be to hold on to the Corvette.

I would keep your vette. Its a LS5. His is just a nice camaro. If it was a special package ss, rs, or z, then maybe

I would put his Camaro at a more realistic price between $25K-$30K.
Would you sell your Corvette for that amount?..didn't think so.
Personally I like the Camaro, but not enough to make a lopsided losing trade for it.

If you want the Camaro and he wants the Corvette...and you feel the Camaro is in condition to justify the trade, go for it. It's your decision as to whether the trade is a good deal or not.
