72 Hardtop headliner color
Would a hardtop original to the 72 car come with a headliner the same color as the interior? I have red convertible with original tan interior but the headliner of the hardtop is black.

The color of the hardtop's headliner typically matched the color of the interior of the car it was first installed on.
Perhaps the hardtop on your car was added at sometime after it first left St.Louis.
Does the tank sheet indicate a hardtop?

Hi Alan. Thanks for the reply. It was pointed out to me that the headliner should match the interior but since the car was purchased by my brother with the hardtop in 1976 we assumed it was original to the car. Guess not. The gas tank hasn't been replaced and the body has not been off so there hasn't been access to the tank sticker. Thanks for your help. Dave
