I guess the old nickname of "arrest me" red has finally come to fruition.

I've always felt that in a case like this, if he owns the truck that did the haulin', the police should be able to give the truck and trailer to the Corvette owner in compensation for the inconvenience and aggravation he's suffered from this crime. Kind of an eye for an eye.

Perfect . That's what the police do if something is used in a crime or if a house or car is bought with drug money . So why shouldn't it apply here ? Just another little perk for the victim along with the thief paying the court cost and serving some time. Trouble is , most of the time the thief is a loser and the truck wouldn't be worth forty dollars.

I never really seen crime victims profiting off the crime as in a free house or car, the LEO's do however take some drug dealer vehicles and use them for the force,

But this red vette, what year is it, it doesn't look like much more than about a 5-7K car...weird

Often it's a crime of opportunity. The thief sees it and steals it, with no planning or thought involved. They may not need or want the object, theft is just their nature.

probably the truck and trailer are borrowed to the hilt.. not worth trying to confiscate.. but the crook would have to pay any restitution in order to get out of jail or ever get a license again.

It's always nice when an observant neighbor reports a crime in progress. That kind of call makes every cop's day for sure. I'm sure this thief has an illustrious "resume'".
