Default Is there such a thing as TOO Fast

Here is what can happen when you go too fast in Racing the quarter mile.I went through the lights in the quarter mile at 408.25 mph and when chutes did not "pop" I went for a flight. The flight was great the landing sucked. It was my lucky day got out on my own and walked away.
Wes

The last oak tree didn't break off like the other 8 trees<br/>

Hi Wes,
408.25 mph????? Thats FAST!!!!!
So it appears going fast is a matter of time and distance, while stopping is more a matter of distance!
Regards,
Alan

In this case I think it was a matter of how many oak tree a it took to stop.

I think you're lucky those oak trees were small enough to break.

Wes - And you walked away? AMAZING! You were being watched out for! Incredible! No wonder your forum name is "PLANEMAN"!!! I gather you are wiser now. What was the car body? Remarkable!

You were very fortunate. Thank God.
Back in the 80s on a "night of thrills" at NJ Raceway Park a jet driver pulled the chute going through the traps before killing the engine. The chute burnt right off and the car kept going through the sand trap and into the woods. That driver did not walk away.

WOW.... That has to be the fastest recorded 1/4 pass in history...

Considering the world record was set in 77' at 386 mph...

You were very lucky to survive that.

Thanks for comment .in order to set a record you must run a back up run within 24 hours which it took us 18 days to repair the damage
