Alan 71-
As someone who has only been on this site for about 6 months with my new to me 74 - your detailed pictures in my postings and those of others have been invaluable in visualizing how things are supposed to look when properly assembled. I'll also give a shout out to Willcox' excellent site/materials/videos as well and DUB's sage 'been there a million times' advice.
You clearly have a vast library of excellent resolution pics from when you restored your car. I've often thought to myself - Man, that guy could publish a CD of those pics, or even a coffee table book - and I'd be the first guy in line to buy it. I personally find the AIM manual helpful, and while drawings are one thing - high rez pictures are entirely another and MUCH more helpful in visualizing correct setups.
i'm sure you will poo-poo my suggestion, but at minimum - please consider making arrangements to make your pics available should something unexpected ever happen to you God forbid. You are sitting on a gold mine of valuable assets that will help the C3 community in the future!

Hi,
Thanks very much!
The library is now about 10,000 pictures.
Probably about 1/3rd to 1/2 of them are close duplicates or of limited use.
If I did something about assembling them I'd break them the way the NCRS Flight Judging Sections are done….Mechanical, Chassis, Exterior, Interior.
Maybe about 1500 to 2000 total photos with higher numbers in Mechanical and Chassis, and lesser in Exterior and Interior.
What makes the photos of LIMITED utility is that the photos are mainly of just one car a 71! Very few convertible pictures. Very few big block pictures. Very few automatic, a/c, p/b, p/s, pictures.
I'm gratified when I'm able to post just what someone needs to see….. and try not to think about all the times I have nothing to offer.
If there had happened to be such a thing as a digital camera when I started this trip 25+ years ago there would likely be 20,000+ photos now and I'd have more to offer! I think about that a lot…..if only!
So, I'll try to keep them coming!
Regards,
Alan
For 70-72 folks the new NCRS 70-72 TIM&JG is about 225 pages with about 675 color photos and is quite a REMARKABLE piece of work. Quite different than the majority of what I post but filled with original details.
The long list of folks who were part of the revision hoped that the level of detailed information and color photos will be continued as various year's manuals are revised in the near and distant future.
Try to get a look at one and see if it's something you might find helpful and like to have.
Thanks very much!

Edit: Easy Mike is another guy worth mentioning here, among others, who are always willing to help.

Your categorization makes alot of sense.
No single resource will be able to address every variation of body style, engine, interior, etc. but so much of these cars appear to be standard across years and styles that even if it didnt help one person - the next would find it invaluable
I think it would be an awesome resource for the c3 community and something that would outlive you. Give it a consider !

I can't agree more! Not only is this guy Alan in the know, big time, but he shares his knowledge/experience, etc in order to help others. I feel he has more going on than just Corvette know-how. My sincere thanks to Alan.

More like a bible for 70-72 Corvettes. It really is quite a compilation, of years of knowledge and hours upon hours of time from a few dedicated volunteer members of the NCRS. This one publication, has upped the game as far as judging manuals go.
It can be purchased on their web site, I believe the "store" is open to the public.

I'm in, his pictures and information were a big influence on me doing an Off body restoration and trying to make my 69 as original as I can.
Thanks Alan for the info and of course the great clear pictures.
Well done!

Three cheers for Alan! The pictures he posts here and on the NCRS technical discussion board are incredibly helpful; he gives a ton of advice to those of us less knowledgable about our C3's; and he does it all with a gentlemanly friendliness that is sometimes lacking on web-based discussion boards. And thanks as well to all the other "old pro's" who are willing to share advice and insight.

And, if Alan includes a photo and story of Piggie, I'll be in for two. If he autographs, well then three.
Seriously, Sir, you are one heck of an asset!
