Default Help - Can't Find Seat Belt Underbody Cable 38683625!

After several phone calls to the the major vendors and searches on the interweb, it appears that the part has been discontinued. I would like to get one to complete the chassis restoration of my '69 L71 coupe. Does anyone know of a supplier who might still have them?

Edit: P/N in title should be 3863625

Thanks,
-Doug

Hi Doug,
I see the cables listed at Paragon Reproductions.
#12468, fits 68-69 cars.
Might that be what you're looking for?
Regards,
Alan

Love seeing chassis and running gear photos! If someone (like you) has done a nice job it's almost a shame to put the body back on!

Thanks Alan,

I know it's listed in their catalog but could not be found (by me anyway) on their website. I called Paragon and was told that it's been discontinued, at least as an a-la-carte piece, and that it's the same cable as the center cable of the three that are used in midyears. So now I guess I have to decide if it's worth paying 3X the price for a part, only to discard 2/3 of it. The need is only for cosmetics. The original piece is "patenaed" but functionally in pretty good shape. No one says these restoration are cheap.

Here are a few more pictures. The goal is not NCRS but a period correct, bone stock restoration.

Doug,
Big City Corvettes out in California has two original cables listed but they say they are for 70-74 Not sure of the difference if any for the 69. They are listed under their 68-82 underbody section. @ $39.99 - $42.99
You could also email Arvin from Big City and he may have one in their warehouse .
Regards,
Jimmy

The other style listed.
BTW your Chasis restoration looks fantastic. I can really appreciate all the hard work it took to get it to look like that.

Hi Doug,
Your work DOES look really good!
People often believe that restoring their chassis and running gear in anticipation Flight Judging is very different than just doing a nice period restoration…. but it's really not.
Looking over your photos makes me think that if the shock absorbers were gray and the brake calipers were black I'd think you were considering Flight Judging.
Seeing the addition photos reinforces my belief that putting the body back on as nice a chassis restoration as yours, is a shame.
Well Done!
Regards,
Alan

The condition and finish of the frame look exceptional!

Thanks for the suggestion Jimmy but, the '69 version is much shorter.

Default Cables

You may want to try cables from a 66 or 67. They may be the same. Long Island Corvette Supply should have them. Nice job on frame. Jerry
