The Pontiac Banshee Was a Corvette Ahead of Its Time
Both the Mako Shark II and this concept here, the Pontiac Banshee, were critical in the styling of what we now know as the C3 Corvette.

That's the closet thing I've ever seen to a C-3!
Even the Cheetah had different lines.
That concept Pontiac is really close.
Were the head lights vacuum driven too.
I like the hood actually.

Yes! A little bit of Firebird up front in that grill, too.
It certainly looks like the just moved that thing from the Pontiac drawing board over to the Chevrolet drawing board, doesn`t it?
This could`ve been the beginning of the "twins" era.... as in "Firebird--Camaro" "Mustang--Cougar" "Chevelle--Cutlass"... etc. etc.

Nice novelty item, but I can see it being worth an exorbitant price although it's clear this differently influenced the C3 design.
After he passed, that's impressive!
The owner passed away in 2006 and put the banshee on the market.
