Advise on 1970 350 auto car I have.
Have had the car only a few months. Its a good driver with original base 300 HP block. Heads are not original. 400 trans. A/C car. The car is painted white however the paint code is Cortez Silver. The color change does not seam to be due to accident damage as the frame and glass are solid. The interior is black deluxe which is correct but the seats have been recovered at some point in a cloth. The rest of the interior is in good used condition.
Here is my question. The paint is "non matching". I don't mind the white and its serviceable for a few more years. At some point down the road, if I were to repaint, I most likely would go back with Cortez Silver. I have never cared for all black interiors. I do like the red interior that was offered that year and would look great with the white paint now and the Silver paint later. ....Would I be hurting the car by changing interior color?
Thoughts?

Will it hurt it depends on who you ask....I feel badly for people who settle for a color or engine or whatever they don't really like just because it's how the car came originally,
I'm a black on black car person but your car looks very appealing white and my 69 was silver and that grew on me
Red does look good in some colors and since you desire it why not go for it,
If you ever do go to sell the car I assure you someone will pay the same silver on red that someone else would have paid with original colors...worry less about sell time and more about making yourself happy in the here and now.

Hi D_F,
Well!
That REALLY looks terrific!
The nice thing about a well restored interior is that you get to enjoy it the whole time you're driving!
Nice!
Regards,
Alan

Hi Dean, I was wondering what you've been up to. Looks like a really nice car and a great move in doing the red interior. If you go to Cortez silver it will still pop!
Nice!

Now that is one great looking installation Dean. The red is perfect for your white or the future Cortez Silver. Good attention to detail too, so thumbs up to you for this decision and execution.

I don't care what the purists say. You did not devalue that car one nickel by changing from black to Red. Now if that was something scarce, 427 car, maybe. But a small block automatic, you didn't hurt it at all. That's a beautiful interior. Plus, when you do a full color change, just about everything in that interior is new not 48 years old.
