Gas Monkey Garage - 2/6 - 68 427
Did anyone catch the one owner 68 427 that was brought out of its hibernation on gmg last night? It looked like it need a lot of help. Such a shame to see that. At least it was found, bought and hopefully his buddy that bought restores it back to its glory.
Nice find with all the original docs, etc.
Hopefully it's not chopped up like the one they used for the Midas monkey hot wheels vette. Couldn't they find a non original for that one?

Yeah, I saw it too. Glad they saved it and I think with the car going to Dennis he'll do it up right. I think it's just amazing that they continue to have "barn" finds.

I'm still mad a him for selling a running/driving black 69 in season 1 for $6000.

I don't believe half of what they say they bought their cars for. Same goes for Counting Cars. If true, a lot of stupid people out there. Also, the price of the repairs and restorations. Unbelievably cheap. They ain't much good at flashing up engines for the first time either. Always a fail for guys who have years of experience on a simple sbc. Too funny.

Agree with all of you. 6k for a 69 that runs and drives? I was angry myself because that's just unheard of. EVERYTIME they put the car back together, the engine doesn't start, or the wiring is screwed up. Everything is fake. We just like to see the mechanicals. They ruin the show with all the drama.

Love/Hate with Rawlings. Love the show, but hate what it has done to the hobby.Since that show started airing project cars are escalating. Regardless of condition. Anyone who has a rusty hulk in their backyard figures they can retire off it now. Alot of time and money involved in bringing one back. Couldn't believe Richard made his good friend Dennis pay 11 for a car he paid 7500 for. Some friend.

Why would you ever put 40K into an El camino? Did you see the guy that bought it at auction. He went from the 25K bid straight up to 50K which just turned out to be the minimum of what Richard wanted for that car. Why would you bid like that? Why not just bid up by 5K and then try and snaffle it for around 40.

Saw it and was skeptical too. 1. Would never buy an 80 el camino for 50 grand, although they did a nice job with it. Id get my 66 chevelle 138. For less too. 2. i got pissed off at my friend when i was 16 for reselling me a bicycle for a profit. Glad Dennis had the cash to keep it in circulation but you rarely see his builds. Funny how RR calls on Dennis to go half on the expensive buys and then nickel and dimes him.

No. My close friend is in contact with him. He just bought a truck at SEMA that Aaron had a hand in building some parts for. Supposedly that's part of the reason Aaron went out on his own, all the TV BS you all are discussing here. He was sick of it, and in my friends words "is a true car guy". He already has his own shop, but not interested in a show.

That's why the Asian lady who does the upholstery for them calls them *** Monkeys.
They always low ball her and then tell her they need it yesterday.
