Default CE Owners Unite! Show Yer' Photos!

Okay, fellow CE owners- I have seen calls here to show photos of red, green, white, silver, gold, black, Pace Car, and two-toned C3 Corvettes, but NEVER a call for Collector Edition Photos!

So, CE owners, show your pride and joy here! I was inspired to do this after another CE owner posted some excellent photos of his ride, from a couple of great angles.....

I will start with three photos of my CE: One on New Year's Day, 2017, at the frozen Monee Reservoir south of Chicago, and two up on Trail Ridge Road up in Rocky Mountain National Park. The "Golden Toned" one was from a morning when we got up quite early to photograph the sunrise up in the mountains.

Great idea and hoping we 82 CE guys aren't a shy bunch! Guess I'll repost the pics that inspired you to start the thread - about time we had one for our special color ;o)

Great pictures. The colour and especially the turbine/knockoff style rims really set the car apart.

Beautiful Vette. I had the model of this car when I was a kid. I've always loved them.

Default 7 years lots of DRECK!

Guys; you asked for photos..so here goes.

I looked at or talked to 23 sellers before I dropped the hammer.
EITHER sellers were asking too much and had blinders on as to the conditon of their car, or the miles were just too high.

I'm a very good 50 year mechanic, so the little stuff doesn't bother me.

Pictures show front pinstripe gone...now it's back...hand striped.

Passed emissions with 70% headroom.

Plate arrived LSTMAKO

Joy to the world! The 69 has someone to talk to now...the 69 didn't speak German. LOL

All fine photos above. Here are a few of mine. Top one has both my honey's of 35 years. 32K miles. Thinking of maybe selling it.

Bottom is a clean as the top.

Even though my Car has 17,700 miles on it...nowhere near as nice as this. Mine had been in a damp/hot storage hangar for 26 years...
Rusty springs and fasteners etc....HOUSTON TX...salt air!

Lovely pix....
Do me a favor...please take a pick of the under nose reinforcement that is just over the front spoiler....mine is bent...they towed it by that...Rodents! lol I have to re-whatever it!

Beautiful car in beautiful condition in a beautiful place! In my opinion the '82 Collector's Edition was aesthetically the best special edition of any Corvette generation.

Default Death-Rate

I know this is a beautiful photo thread...so Not really trying to Hi-jack it.

I looked at 23 CE's before I bought Mine....

I got very discouraged...7 years of looking...35 years of lurking.

There were soooo many that were just trashed.

Paint gone (totally)
Body Damage
Wheels missing
Stripes= fergeddaboudit!
Interiors...oh c'mon how can you do this to leather...unrecognizable.
Undercarriage 'ever hear of a bushing' ???? really.
Rear windows completely non functional (mine) 26 years the back window COULD'NT be opened.

So the Q here is how many do we think are left in the condition shown in these pix. 1000-2000? (of 6500+)

Here is an example.... https://phoenix.craigslist.org/wvl/cto/6048713679.html

The 'new owner' is so up-side-down JUST reading the ad. The car needs $12,000 worth of work.

Anyway just musing....carry on! Unkahal

The '68 parked behind you looks like its dying to get hit by someone squeezing between it and the car on the other side of the street!

Intentional; 25 mph residential street. That is my Daily TT in the background. It's my buddy Mike's 68 327 /350 . It's a very nice car....that he knows absolutely nothing about....

So much so, that I was kidding him...you know the T shaped center armrest cushion you can buy? He had his backwards.

He wants to learn. Amazingly, he has two Corvettes as well. His Daily is a 1995 C-4 coupe.

" I don't know nothing 'bout art, 'cept what I like".

We on the street, 'crowd' the driven lane...there's a Mega-church down the street...we're trying to keep people from 'rushing to meet their maker' LOL.

It is amazing how whenever I pull the CE into the driveway....all the Vette guys in the neighborhood come to visit! LOVE IT!

Cheers. Unkahal
