Default Convertible VIN on my coupé ?

I bought an 72' and i have a question.

Here is my VIN : 1Z67W2S504799

"6" want to say it's a convertible, but it's a coupé (T-Top).

Can someone decode my VIN and now why ?

Coupes are coded "3" on the third digit; Convertibles are coded "6."

"W" in 5th digit = 454 engine.

So, you are off on the "W", but that "6" still indicates convertible.

Is this your car? If so, not very original, but I like it....looks great.

Do you have a good close up picture of the vin plate behind the windshield?

Are you looking at the VIN tag on the driver's windshield post or looking at the paperwork?

Time to break out the sawzall and convert it. You wouldn't want the vin to wrong.

You may want to contact the seller for possible clarification. You have a coupe with a convertible VIN.

How about the vin# on the frame, engine pad, and transmission? Have you checked?
Just curious if you see 504799.
I see the seller was including the original engine (not installed). Did you get it?

Someone may have "repaired" the Birdcage.

Then used that vin to requester the car.

The bike guys have been doing this for years.

I'm not sure what it means to requester, but it sure sounds like a felony to me.

2 months ago you were asking about the engine. You were supposed to check the engine stamp pad in front of the passenger side head and get back to us. Did you ever check the pad and see if the last 6 digits match your VIN?

Here's how I look at it. I'd rather have that '72 Corvette in France than a '72 Citroen in the U.S.
