Alan , Please don't get insulted because of one guy trying to be funny. I never looked at it as showing off. I know you are proud of your work and you should be and you are willing to share your talents to help someone else. I think 99% of viewers here appreciate what you do and there is always that 1% Thank you .
If you look at the first photo of the 1970 frame, you can see that the outer braces are straight in line with the outer bumper holes. I can't figure out why on the 68 and 69, GM made the outer arms or extensions lower than the outer bumper bolt holes, by about two inches. That helped the bumper fold upward in an accident.
By the way, I worked in maintenance at the original Modern Tool and Die plant in Cleveland, Ohio for 34 years until it closed in 2007. We made those outer extensions for GM, along with all 1960-1982 radiator supports and the two ribbed "bird cage" panels that are behind the C-3 seat backs. Lou.
