'69. Got the wiper switch out. Plastic blue lamp holder in place. Got what I think is the wire. No socket. Haven't found it looking through various catalogs. Might have to find generic replacement
I just installed a new wiring harness in my 69. No wire or provision for a lamp on the wiper switch. Pictures?
This is the back of the wiper switch - you can see the blue plastic thing with the 1/2" hold in it. I have a loose wire with a socket and this bulb in it. Only one that doesn't have a home & it comes on with all the other dash lights. If it is the one meant for that spot it's missing a holder or clip.
I see The Punisher's response - I'll have a look at Corvette America. Looks like the seat belt warning lamp socket - hadn't thought to see if it fits.
Hi,
I agree that it appears you have a later wiper switch bezel (73+) and that the blue wire may be for the headlamp, seat belt, or door ajar warning lamps.
Regards,
Alan
I suspect you may have a later wiper switch bezel. If memory serves, there was no wiper light until 73.
There wasn't one.. but GM serviced a replacement switch plate that included the provision for the lamp. I have this socket on my site if you need it, and you can jumper this off any gray wire in the dash harness.
