AZ is the code for the standard 15x8 Corvette rally wheel.

I did see AZ was Corvette Rally Rim but I was told the K18 5 was May 1968 and the 24 on the other side was 24th day of May 1968. I didn't think they made the Corvette Rally rim until 1969?

HiG,
Here's a 'key' to decoding the stamped information on rally wheels.
The 7" wide wheels used for 68 production where stamped AG, while the 8" wide wheels used for 69+ were stamped AZ. There will be AZ wheels with 68 dates as yours shows.
The 6" DC rally wheels were used on 67 model year Corvettes. (Thanks Walt z.)
The 7" AG rally wheels were used on 68 model year Corvettes.
Although the 67 had a center cap and trim ring the center cap and trim ring was changed for 68. That 68 cap and trim ring continued in use through the rest of rally wheel use on Corvettes.
Regards,
Alan

They started making rims in 1968. The earliest I have seen was August 5th for the 69 model year. Either way, I am sure by the fonts stamped into your rim that yours are from 1978.

A little bit different info -
67 rallys were 15x6. Code stamped as DC (early 67) and DG (late 67). No date stamps.
68 rallys were 15x7. Stamped as AG. Date stamped.
69 were 15x8. Stamped ad AZ. Date stamped.

There are other rallys from Chevelles, Camaros, full size Chevrolets. Some are 14 inch, some are 15inch. Look the same but different stamp codes.

Good luck.

walt z.

Hi Mike,
68 are the same too.
The same depth trim ring was used on both the 7" and 8" wide wheels.

Alan
