Default OK you Vintage Air Guru's ...

I'm installing the 67 GTO Gen 4 kit into my 71, long story short great deal that I couldn't refuse and like everything else on this car it requires modifications as apparently I just can't do things the easy way!

Things I need to know...

A) Does the orientation of the A/C lines have to come off the top or can the compressor be rotated so they can come off the side?

B) Does anyone have a pic of the lines installed that mate with the aluminum condenser lines? Really if you have pics of the soft lines that would be great as well.

Thanks guys and or gals ...

Dave

I'm no guru, but did install one. From the manual;
"90° maximum "clocking" to retain oil on Sanden SD508 compressor."
I believe the discharge port (line toward the condenser) has to remain equal to or above the center line of the compressor. There is also a compressor with lines that go so straight out the back. That is what I went with on my 76 vette. Hope this helps.

I'm watching this thread closely.
I want to install a Vintage Air system in the future. Maybe I can learn something.

As 1976 already pointed out it cannot be rotated past 90 degrees. There was actually a warning that came in the original box.

Good luck with install.

You can have a high pressure hose made that will go from your compressor to the condenser fitting if that is your problem as I understand the question. You may be able to reuse the end fittings and have the hose cut off and recrimped and made the correct length and with the correct angle fitting that you need.
