proper way to seal around windshield trim ?
Okay the seal between the top windshield trim and t-top trim is falling apart. I know you are not supposed to scrape it out and caulk it. So what is the proper method? remove t-top trim and top windshield trim and put an even coat of what under both. If so, how much of a pain is it to remove the windshield trim?

bad news your trim is not leaking, your gonna have to dig deeper to find the actual leak.
the trim is not designed to seal.

Hi M,
I'm not clear as to just what you're trying to seal?
The stainless and chrome plated trim on the windshield header or the ss/rubber trim on the front of the roof panels?
To remove the windshield header trim the a-pillar weather-strip and a-pillar reveal molding must be removed in order to release the ends of the long thin piece of trim.
This then allows the larger piece of header ss trim to be removed.
What parts are you referring to?
Regards,
Alan

Hi M,
Originally there was a pasty silver colored sealer that was applied in the gap between the trim pieces.
It's rare to see the sealer on cars today because when windshields were/are replaced the trim comes off and goes back on but the sealer is rarely replaced.
Regards,
Alan
Here's the remainder of some original sealer on a nice 69.
It's a BASE motor car with side exhaust!!!!!
Don't laugh!
