I was correct. POST#8 and the second photo. I double checked it and it was posted by 'MISTERZ06'

I went though for bumpers from thee company here in the states that makes them until I finally go one that fit correctly....and that was after they test fitted it and sent photos of it on a car.

The mounting brackets that are welded to the inside of the bumpers so it can be bolted in place were all 'jacked up' and not correctly welded in place. I mean REALLY bad. The bad bumpers were not even close to being consistent.

It is odd that if you need a spacer between the bumper and horseshoe bracket...why you can not close the gap....but also considering that the bumper may not be correct in how the flat plate that contacts the horseshoe bracket may be in or out.

I can see that the 'new' bumper seems to be narrow than the original at the very center where the peak is made into the bumper.

EDIT:
It is extremely/highly unlikely that if the front of the clip is drooping that it would cause this. It is in the bumper....because the metal reinforcement that is installed is keeping the front end correct. Now if it is drooping a bit and the bumper guards want to be pain to go in correctly...then THAT is highly probable.

Might that in some way be a clue to what's going on with the bumper?

Has this been discussed?…. is it remotely possible that the fiberglass surround forward of the headlight openings is drooping and causing the bumper miss-fit?
I'll try the bumper guard fitment today. Thanks

This isn't going to work well. First I had to straighten a bracket on a $500 bumper.

Better than before I took the reinforcement bracket off and repositioned it.

In the above photo, you can see the out of wack D/S bracket I had to fix. Thanks UPS and/or GM Restoration Parts

If you are referring to the bracket where your bumper guards attach..I did see that...and I have dealt with that issue also....but I was more focused on how well you got the bumper to look.

I know you were 'on the fence' some time ago and were going to leave it and I am GLAD that you got it right. Now ...every time you look at your car you should not have any regrets.

All I can say that if someone has the nerve to complain about how well it is fitting now...has no clue and is just trying to bring you down because they do not have a Corvette as nice as yours.

And to the person who just has to comment badly on it...I would love to get to their Corvette with my digital calipers and start measuring out the car. I know that would shut them up.

Be happy with it.... in case your are not....it looks good and nothing is so obvious and just sticks out as being screwed up.
