If you think about the whole thing it can get overwhelming and you get disillusioned. Even if your enjoying it you still get tired of it at times. Thats where the discipline to do something comes in. When you don't want to work on it you should do something anyway. The interest will then come back. But if you don't keep pushing and there is no progress for a while there is danger of giving up.
Your post is truly inspirational. I am where you were 10 years ago. Thanks for showing your end results. Your 68 is beautiful and sounds great!

So it had the grille headlight kit when you bought it. Any info on that, who's kit? and who installed it?

Great job on converting it back to OEM. Any other before pics of the nose?

Unfortunately I know nothing about them. I sold them to someone for I think $50.

Thank you for sharing the photos and videos of your beautiful '68. As stated above many of us share your same feelings of initially spending too much on our cars, myself included. You should feel so proud of your accomplishment. Your hard work and dedication to completing the restoration has definitely paid off. When you perform all /most of the work on these cars yourself and see the final result like yours there is no better feeling in the world. I think it also creates a special bond between you and the car making it just another family member. (Does that make any sense?) Anyone can go buy a car that is already restored, and that's ok too, but there is just something special about working and turning the wrenches on them yourself. I like the license plate and the subtle addition of the new Stingray fender emblems.:thumbs
Now that it's finished I hope you take the time to enjoy it and DRIVE IT!
Best of luck!
Tooch
Thanks!, Don't worry, I'm not afraid to drive it!

Actually, now that you mention it, before this I built a 2 person airplane from plans, a Zenith Ch-701. Next I am thinking about a Glen-L wooden sailboat or another plane, a Rans S-7S Courier on floats. But for a little while I'll just take a break.

Spent 10 yrs also most of it due to flaky body shops ie paint jail

You are right most have no friggen clue how endless it is time effort $ it is really exhausting but you did it!! Many never see the road again onnce they are apart.

Dont let her sit around and collect dust wear a rock chip with pride!!

Very well done. I did the same thing in 4-1/2 years, but it takes constant focus and lots of money....and obviously time. After it was all done, it seemed to take no time at all. While you are doing it, it feels like it has been a long time.

I would like to do it all again, and would if I won the lottery, but unless that happens, I will just be happy with what I did.

You did a fine job and should be proud.
