Default I received my GM invoice today and boy was I shocked!

I found out our 79 was dark metallic Green with Dark metallic Green bucket seats. I always thought our car was the medium blue from a spot I saw under the hood, and the seat belts had a faded blueish green look, I always thought it was a faded blue but now I'm guess those are a faded green. I highly recommend getting an invoice for your car. $50 bucks is cheap compared to the information you can acquire. Originally no glass tops, no spoilers, and aluminum rims not ralley rims.

Very cool

absolutely!
yeah this car was ridden hard and put away wet. probably passed around like a joint at a grateful dead concert. lol For it's short life it had a lot of experiences!
We are taking good care of it now, fixing all that bubba had done wrong and enjoying it well.

What was the gymkhana suspension?

FE7 replaced the earlier F-41. Essentially heavier shocks and springs; possibly a rear stabilizer bar depending on model year.

Nice car and you have done a lot of work, but no, pics of the invoice

Looks like only 2426 (code 58) had the exterior dark green and only 907 (code 492) had the dark green leather seats.

NCRS can use the dealer code for their data base if you post it up.

to the question about gymkhana suspension, 79's had a rear stabilizer bar with the gymkhana suspension, and I'm pretty sure standard suspension didn't

Your $50 was well spent. You found out a lot about your car that you had no idea of before.

Correct. Gymkhana suspension for '79 had a 7/16" rear bar, standard suspension had no rear bar. Also had a larger front bar, much stiffer springs, and heavy duty shocks.

I think your car looks great! Mine wasn't originally black either.

Thank you! I can only take credit for the wax lol. See that's the point it's really such a dark blue metallic it looks black unless sunlight hits it. I looked up the green on green last night. That's a whole lot of green going on there. The car simply doesn't hold the value to do both the interior and exterior over, so we'll run it as is. I love the spoilers too ( I have the front one ) and it doesn't look that they were original to this car , so if we ever repaint it I will add the front one when we fix the nose. And I love the glass tops, I don't really think we would've bought this car if it didn't have glass tops.

Lastly I knew the car was not an L82 before we bought it, someone added the badge along the way, and put a 4bolt main in it. The block is year specific, we had it redone and bored .040 over, mild cam, 461 fulie heads with the 2.02 valves, edelbrock intake and edelbrock 1406 carb. With the shift kit that's in the transmission and the true dual exhaust, is has some nice gidde up and go' So it's not like it's a candidate for
"all original" anyway.

I'd recommend getting one of these invoices before it's not available anymore. Thanks to those who posted about them in the past.

It's cool to have the documentation for the next owner as well.
