Dumb 69 Gill Louver Install Question
Do the well nuts go completely behind the fiberglass or do they sit in the 3/8 hole with lip between the fiberglass and louver?

Yep, they work like a drywall anchor. You insert them into the hole from the outside of the car, and the lip ends up between the louver trim and the car body. When you tighten the screw up, it pulls the backside on the Wellnut up tight against the body, holding everything together.

measure 5 times, drill once. use a very sharp small bit to use as a pilot hole to get you centered. Atleast in there any mistakes can be fiberglassed and redrilled without being seen.

Here are the dimensions for installing the louver trim, from the 69 Assembly Manual.

Little bit of an older thread but I'll ask anyway.
From your experience, what worked better drilling the upper or side holes first?
Thanks

Then drill the side hole.....remove the upper screw and chrome piece so you can install the side hole well nut. (It seems if you drill the SIDE hole first, the top hole screw will pull upwards on the chrome piece causingit to be in a bind against the side hole screw. Then the piece will NOT to align with the side hole well nut)
My .02 sense.

Another dumb question please. Is there access to holding all of the hardware needed. Seems to be a very tight area. What else is new!
Thanks!
