Good looking car that was supposedly a low mile barn find restored by the current owner. Pricing on these is tough without getting an in-person look at the frame and birdcage. The fact it has side pipes and is claimed as all original is interesting. No good pic in the listing of the rear valance patch job to critique. It does have the correct '70 only lower front bumperettes.

I'd guess this is around a $30k car until you could confirm condition, numbers, etc. adding or deducting for issues as they're found and assuming the paint shows fairly well in person.

On the C3 registry from when the current owner bought it...

You sure Jerry? The seller said matching numbers on the registry, and that code isn't even close to an LS5. VIN is way off too.

1970 couldn't have side pipes from factory, and Firestone 500s were later tires. The engine looks accurate, it's probably mostly correct, but the guy posting the c3registry ad could do more research to validate his claims. Looks decent though.

Again my bad that pic is from the pic gallery and NOT the engine pad of this 70. After looking at the pics of this LS5 it looks like a real nice 70 with POP and changing back to rear exhaust not a big deal. Some small blocks are going for high 20k and low 30k this 70 could easily sell for about 35k. Not sure what owner asking but I would say about 35k.

it is vin 8311 according to the ebay info, 8311 is on the c3 registry.
owner claims all original, I call BS on that one, no sidepipes were installed from the factory on a 70.

also owner claims 10K in receipts for hoses, shocks, tires and several other stuff yet still claims all original.

registry claims car purchased august 69. no way since 1970 cars were not available until Jan 1970. car 8311 was not built until late march of '70.

registry claims for sale for 39K, looks like before all the work done, so suspect his reserve is around 50K counting his 10K of receipts.
looks like a nice car, but classic over puffery puts a ceiling on what I would pay. of course the registry entry may be the previous owners misguided statements.
my opinion is that if you claim all original, you better back it up...

also zero mention about rust.

Why paint the bypass hose?

Someone was in a hurry to paint the engine.

I faintly see the number 7 above the 8. Plus the 4 and I are double struck? Would this be a re-stamp or how it came from the factory?

Please dont take this the wrongway, but if you do not know corvettes, you came to the right place because you will learn alot, but please do not go out and spend 40-50K on a C3 corvette by yourself. Do some searching of this forum and educate yourself. If you find a car you like, post it here, and ask for someone on here who knows that year car to meet you to help you go look at it. Each year has its own models and quirks. Its easy to claim original, and original has 500 different meanings to 500 different people. There is so much knowledge on this forum, use it. Good luck!
