And we have threads on this forum asking about how a C3 Corvette performs at 120 mph.

War/Car story: I was in downtown Baton Rouge, La. at a car lot when I heard what sounded like a 12 gauge shotgun firing. I jumped around to see pieces of a car body flying everywhere.
Then I realized that a freight truck had pulled out of the parking lot and a Corvette had driven under it. The car hit the underside of the truck frame at the spare tire/bracket.
I was nervous about looking inside the car thinking the driver would be decapitated. As I walked closer the driver raised up from laying on the console and passenger's seat, then he opened the door and walked clear of the car.
There was absolutely no fiberglass larger than a shoe box lid or a windshield left on the chassis.

I wonder if Chevy would like to take a look at that cracked up Malibu to see how the crash broke it in two. If this accident was 20-25 years ago, both occupants would be DOA

Neglecting mechanical failure, probably distracted driving in the form of alcohol/drugs, texting or dozed off. Doesn't take but a second for an (preventable) accident to happen and all accidents are preventable.

Many years ago I saw one that was almost identical in appearance. A Ford Escort GT was running at triple digit speeds and crossed over the double yellow, going head on into a full sized RV. The Escort was split open like this. Even the RV had heavy damage to the LF area. Combined speed was estimated at over 150 MPH. The difference was that the 16 & 17 year old brothers in the Escort were destroyed by the force of the impact. Details would be too gruesome to describe. The 17 year old driver was DUI. Horribly sad and impossible to forget.

No disrespect for the OP but for the life of me I can't figure out why this thread hasn't been moved to OT? Where's the Corvette related story? Did I overlook it?
