Default car show in my town today

no theme, just bring what you've got

my car

the other (NCRS) vette

nice car but acres of sheet metal

I won the mayor's award a couple of years ago, but this year, this guy gets it. I would have given it to him too

A red Chevelle Super Sport 66 or so convertible ended up parking next to me. Had an LS3 with the hood open. I regret not taking a picture. But I sat and watched for a while and the dynamics were kind of interesting. Guys in their 20's which would have been about the right age to buy that car back in the day passed right by my car with barely a glance and clustered around the Chevelle. I guess some things never change.

Nice article. I tried AX a few times and was surprised how difficult it was to put up good times. Its not something that a rookie can jump into. At least not me. It takes a lot of practice.

Thanks for posting the pictures of the show. It looks like it was fun.

Great article thank you for sharing. I love to read about how people make these cars their own and then enjoy them. It shows that your vette has been a fun experience. Great car.

Thanks for the compliments. Just as a footnote, the article came about because my son called the magazine and said to the editor at the time, "hey my Dad's got an interesting car...". I didn't even know that call happened until they called me. I think the message here is if you've got something interesting going on with your car, it doesn't hurt to try with any of the current mags. They are always on the lookout for content.

As far as the kids passing by your car to look at a Chevelle: I think that's progress since I thought they'd be looking for the Focus RS or Suburu WRX. Sorry, a Corvette is a Corvette and there is no other car like it (unlike the GTOs, 442s, Buick Gran Sports).
