Default 1974 corvette firestone tire recall letter

I am the original owner of a 1974 Corvette. I am looking for the recall letter sent by Firestone which stated the original steel belted 500 radial tires had been recalled and to go to the nearest Firestone store to receive a new set of replacement 721 tires.
Does anyone have a copy of this letter they would share or identify where a copy could be purchased?

Any idea what year that happened? I'd guess in 1977 since there's a notation of the recall in my '77's maintenance records at about 4k miles. It still had the 721s on when I got it in 1993.

According to my information on the tires:

A recall of the original Firestone 500 tires happened in 73 and 74. The replacement tire was the Firestone 731 SBR or any other Firestone series of the same size. That would be the letter 74 CorvetteKid is looking for I believe. (I'd love to see a copy of that too!)

Then on November 29, 1978 Firestone announced the recall of 14.5 million SBR 500 tires. And then on July 16, 1980 the recalled an additional 5 million of the same type tires. So, they pretty much recalled every SBR 500 made which included those installed on 1973-77 Corvettes.

Easy Mike,
Sorry to be repetitive. You beat me too it. I must have been typing when you posted.
But thanks for the info very informative link you posted.
BTW I still have the original Firestone 500 Blackwall spare tire that came with my 1973.
Last year after I had the car judged I was checking out the tire and found that it was starting to separate. So I left most of the air out of it and no longer carry it in the carrier on the car. I've read where those have literally exploded tire carriers back in the day. I've included the photos below..

Yes, I remember this well on my 73 that I got in Dec. 72. I noticed l was having a lot of tire wear and got in touch with Firestone. They would tell me that the vette was out of alignment. I had several shops check the alignment and it was always dead-on. Firestone would never recognize the problem or admit it. I finally just changed out the 4 Firestone tires for 4 Generals. Never had the tire wear again that the Firestones were having.
Still have the original spare Firestone 500 that has never been used.

Probably none. It's just another one of those items to collect and have with your car from that era. IMO!
