What to powdercoat vs paint on 69 suspension?

It isn't so much on what you can fill the pits in with...it is trying to get the pits clean and free of rust so whatever you fill them in with will STAY and not still allow the rust to keep growing.
It ALL depends on what quality level a person wants to do this type of repair and HOW LONG they want it to last.
It could be as easy and getting it really clean and using the POR15 product line and their SPECIFIC PROCEDURE and applying the POR15 and then coming in the next day and sanding it down and re-applying it again to fill in the pits.
So..if a person wants to spend a few days on the frame and get it looking flawless...or if they want to slap some stuff on it and paint it...it all depends on what they want to do. And what I have often found to be the case is that there are very few people who will invest in the time and SPECIFIC CHEMICALS to make the repair be the best it can be.

Another vote for powdercoating.
I use 60% gloss on everything black.
I do my own powdercoating for smallish parts. Cheaper to do so than use spray cans and I get a stronger finish.

It drives like a new car. I think the vbp suspension did a nice job, and at first didnt really see a huge change. But after a long cruise into the mountains I could really tell how the suspension was improved. Its very smooth, no harshness. Carves corners beautifully. Expensive but Im glad I did it.
