Another one back on the road!
After what seemed like years, but was actually months, I got the call to come pick up my new pride and joy yesterday. Seems fitting that it is Father's day weekend. Can't believe how nice this thing sounds and drives, and I got my first 'Corvette wave' on the way home. For those of you who haven't read some of my other threads it is a 71 Canadian car with a period correct rebuilt LS5 NOM with pretty much all the mechanical stuff and interior replaced or rebuilt. Options are PS / PB / PW / Tilt-Tele / AC / Leather. Original paint was Steel Cities Gray (my favorite) but I can live with Black (second favorite) until I can afford a paint job. Frame was almost rust free, restoration was body on. With the exception of things like dual electric fans, upgraded starter they tried to keep it as stock as possible.

Thanks for the kind words. Went to a cruise night with a couple of friends last night and all was well until the last few blocks coming home when I lost first and second gear. Never prayed so hard for green lights but a couple of reds got me and I learned that 3rd gear starts with a 3:08 rear end are no fun. I looked underneath this morning I can see the shift rod dangling so I'm hoping this is an easy one. As my friend told me 'with these old cars it's always something'.

I've had that discussion twice already, the black is really nice but it's lacquer and has quite a few scars. I think I will touch it up as best I can and keep it black for a few years and then see how I feel about it.

Sounds like a sensible plan, body ons can be good, your car wont be sitting for yrs can do it at your own pace and drive it.
Shark Grey is a real nice shade on the C7s think it would look good on yours. Just enough metallic to set it off. The C3 silver, and 00-02 era Mercedes silver is striking also just not as dark
