So what I have figured out from my 68 coupe project:
L68 - 427 Tri-power
J50 - Power brakes
M21 - Four speed
N36 - Telescopic steering column
U69 - AM/FM radio

Thats it, something to help you go and something to help you stop, and that is how she is going to stay..(ok I might upgrade the radio!)

Our 1971 coupe....
Steel Cities Gray
350 /270 horse
Automatic
Power steering
Power brakes

Other than that, we`re sure it came with a radio, but not sure what kind. Non-AC, roll-up windows, standard rear axel ratio, black vinyl interior. Car was first sold in North Carolina.

Automatic Transmission was considered a luxury item in 69. Some people were hesitant to pay for such an extravagant option. Some of my buddies had Camaros and Chevelles tht had A/Ts with the fancy u-shaped shifter which was considered sporty.

When my parents bought new cars in 64 and 68 they were equipped with "3 on the tree." This was definitely un-sporty. I learned to drive on one of these cars.

Your car sounds like a twin of mine, except for the sidepipes.

All the original paper is long gone of course. I'm the 3rd owner, the 2nd bought in in 1971 and lived next door. I've saw all the docs after he got it, but he let them get away.
