I am waiting on lower shock mount brackets; a differential front bracket kit; a set of spring bolts; and then I can finish the strut and shock install and tighten up the differential and install the rear spring.
Up front I need to install the front springs and then install the steering linkage so I can turn the front wheels when moving the chassis. Front steering drag link is on it's way, be here after Christmas so the completion looks like a post Christmas pre New Years project.
My goal is to have the body on this body dolly before the end of the year so I can build the new 77 chassis for this car starting in January.
I have four wheels that need a good polishing, might just have to get them started and find me some tiers for this project I guess. Things that make you go hmmmm.
Thanks for watching.

Safety Car
I bought a Corvette Orange 1977 last week and brought it home but I have not done anything with it yet. It has been painted white but has good bones to work with so I think I will take it from its current state to the same as my previous 77 that I have missed since selling it. Here is my 77 target. I'll post pictures of the starting spot soon.

Lots of work from start to finish on this one but we will start this winter.

Uneven Weld Line
I guess it pertains to more than just the frame. Sometimes the body doesn't come out looking so pretty as well. Small setback but I will be back on the car chassis' soon and will continue the progress.
May you all have a fantastic Christmas with your friends and family members.
Best regards,
David

This looks like it was not a planned upgrade.
Hope and pray all is well.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you, Tammy and family.

Christmas Goal Fulfilled
I was working to get the 78 donor chassis finished so I could put my 77 body onto it and have it available to roll, move, and work on the interior over the winter months.
I am happy to report I accomplished this one with one day to spare.
I finished the assembly of the rolling chassis/body dolly and moved it outdoors on the 24th. I call it "FrankenChassis" because it has 69, 70, 75, and 78 parts on it; all working together to make it a nice rolling body and frame dolly. Perfect for transportation and painting on the donor allows you to keep your original very clean.
The 77 was hanging over lift number one so I rolled the dolly under it and raised the dolly slowly to capture the body. I pushed the gantry crane forward after capturing the body in the up position.
I lowered the body-on-dolly to the floor so I could open the doors and check out where I will be working inside the car next.
These pictures are the current status of the interior. Taken for documentation purposes. I will remove the steering column; the lower left dash; the center gauges and console items very soon and then clean up the interior flooring, etc.
Door are stripped. Carpet has all been removed.
Rear section only has the battery in the box and the original jack and spring and jack handle remaining. Those will come out and get tagged and a plan for restoring them will come soon.
So there you have it folks, my winter project sitting staged and ready for some attention.
I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year celebration.
See you in 2018.
Best regards,
David Howard

Hey David....
I think even GM shut down on Christmas Day.
Have a great day with your family. Speedy recovery from the cancer scare.
And thanks for all the inspirations you share with us all year long.
Peace and God bless.

Saturday's Project
This is an earlier picture but it shows what I am going after this weekend.
I want to remove the upper dash pad; the middle gauge console; the emergency brake console, the steering column, the lower left dash pad with gauges, and the pedal assembly this Saturday. It has been cold here and I have a heater that I will use and see if I can at least get these items out of the car and into the basement. My basement is large enough to work in and it is a constant 65 degrees.
Taking parts off in the cold weather is certainly easier than installing them, or so it seems to me.
I will provide pictures when I get this done.

Yeah Its been quite cold up here in Long Island as well. Tough working in the garage last two weeks, especially on the cold concrete floor. My junky heater could only get the temperature just below 50 F. Not the best temperature to paint in!!! Ike

I spent 2 winters in Key West / The Keys when I was younger. Should have stayed. Came back for my younger brother's wedding and got stuck.
In GA now, slowly making my way back......lol
