Drifting
The dual pin caliprscare different castings. Standard LT-1 used ordinary calipers just like the other year disc brake vettes.

Hi,
Regular (is that possible?) LT-! cars had standard brakes and standard calipers.
Here's a photo of the HD brakes (front) on a 300 mile 72 ZR-1 showing the HD brake pad's configuration. (No pin.) I believe these were part of the ZR-1 option.
The bosses for the standard brake pad mounting pin appear to have been machined off.
Regards,
Alan
And on an LS-6 car. Note the additional machined area.

I have a 1967 vette coupe with the optional J-56 brakes and the dual pin calipers are a different casting # different master cyl and proportioning valve also. Have owned this car for 46 years and is original, Jus saying.

J-56 calipers are the same casting numbers as regular calipers. The pin tabs are milled off, two pin holes are added, and different pistons are used, but the castings are the same. The fronts are 5452270 and 5452273, and the rears are 5452281 and 5452284.
67 J-56's did use a different master cylinder. Regular brake (manual & power) 67's, came with the 1" bore master cylinder, casting number 5455509, stamped "DC". J-56 cars used casting number 5460346, with a 1 1/8" bore and stamped "PG". There's nothing special or unique about the 346 PG master cylinders though, as they were also used on all 68-72 Corvettes with power brakes.
From 66-69, J-56 Heavy Duty Brakes were a stand along option, available on any Corvette. From 70-75, J-56 brakes could only be had as part of the 70-72 ZR1 or ZR2 Special Purpose Packages, or the 73-75 ZO7 Off Road Suspension & Brake Package.
So to the OP's original question. As Alan pointed out, unless the car had the optional Special Purpose Package RPO ZR1, all LT-1's came standard with the same manual disc brake system, as any other Corvette.
