I was coming home from a cruise night yesterday in my 76. A young man in the back seat of a car approaching in the oncoming lane hung out the window and gave me a vigorous, waving thumbs up. A few minutes later, a C5 comes up in the oncoming lane, I wave - I get NADA from the C5!!!!! Go figure
A while back, I pulled up to a red light. There was a truck in the left turn lane. The young man in the passenger seat hung out the window and yelled - "Light them up mister"!!!! I replied - "I don't smoke"!! And pulled away nice and easy!

Lots of "thunbs up" in traffic and stopping for gas always leads to comments, compliments and conversation.

Not long after I ditched my Hooker sidemounts for undercar chambered exhaust, I had a guy pull up next to me and slightly behind, pull out his camera and film the rear of the car while I was driving down the road.
I knew I had made the right decision on the exhaust.

I get the occasional thumbs up or wave. I've had my daughter chauffeur me around recently as I've major surgery and not supposed to drive. She seems to get more waves than I do.

A neighborhood boy around 10 years old looked at my project on the driveway and said......
"Mister....Does it talk?!"
(My wife explained to me the boy was referring to the movie "Cars")

I had a pickup with two young men it it pull up beside me in the left lane. One hung out the window and yelled"how fast will it go". I told him only about 100, but it does it real quick. His reply was "bad *** car"! I'll take that from a 20 something anyday.

My car leaves the driveway maybe twice a week anymore, and when it does, it get noticed/complimented on, first question is...'What YEAR is that'?? and I just laugh, 'What year do you LIKE?'.....'it got Corvette parts from '65 through 94 on it, so pick a year.....then the aftermarket parts count is much further than that....there is NOTHING stock about my car, wheels through roof, stem to stern....
OK, the map pocket on pass. side of dash, that's IT......
the age of folks noticing it, range from kids through guys my age '73......
people think it's a show car, but the paint is not anywhere near THAT quality...it's a good ten-ten car, you know, ten mph, ten feet away, looks GRAND.....see pix below....

I had a neighbour once who asked me if it was a diesel engine under the hood. He was an accountant. Anyway, lots of thumbs up everywhere I go.

A fair amount of stares and thumbs up! A lot of "what year is it" and "awesome car" when stopped at a light or a gas station.
Totally ignored by TACOs in C7s!

I too get a lot of "thumbs up" but the year thing is mostly moot since I went to personalized plates. I do make a run through Mickey D's every once in a while and most of the young girls behind the windows always comment something like "I love your car". I just thank them and drive on thinking I have granddaughters older than most of them.

We drove our 72 to church a couple of weeks ago...I was hanging out with the car after church waiting on the wife and one of the elderly ladies came over to have a look...She says what year is it 56....? That's when I really knew it desperately needs paint.

Oh man, it turns EVERYONE's heads. My favorite is when people look at the car, then at me, and then ask "this...is yours?". Feels good to answer that with "hell yes it's mine!". I get a lot of high fives
My favorite part about owning this beautiful car is that it is universally enjoyed - everyone from little kids, to scary looking people, to old guys, to well dressed ladies, to young families - EVERYONE waves, smiles, shouts when I roar past. I never expected that when I bought it.

70 laguna grey base coup. I always get a thumbs up. But it is strange how c5 and up guys give it a quick look and stare straight ahead.
