This has also turned into a while I'm there project. So while I'm here and the wheels are off i swapped the brakes over to some wilwood d8-6 on the fronts and d8-4 on the rears along with some wilwood rotors. Like normal with my luck these have turn out to be a pia because the fronts came in silver and the rears were a grey color. After some unhelpful people from summit someone finally dug i to it and found out wilwood updated the color offered and i had new and old versions. Either way they're slightly off in color and I'm tired of dealing with summit and wilwood so it'll work since they're not right next each other. Maybe i assume too much or have too high of expectations but for the money these things cost I figured they'd match.
I also got my pedal bracket painted and back on.

Been a while, work's been busy yada yada yada....back to it.
Had the driveshaft shortened and I went ahead and installed some safety loops for peace of mind. They went on pretty easy without too much modification to the new trans. crossmember and the new offset trailing arms I just put in.

Finished putting the rear spring back together and installed shiftworks kit forbthe 4l70. I had to notch out the trans pan bracket and removing the old detent was a pia. It wasnt a simple drill spot welds like the sw instructions state but I got it apart finally.

Finished up the gauge clusters. I redid my speedo/tach plate to handle any future indicator lights. Came out clean and kinda "factory" looking. Cleaned up the wiring a lot

thanks! I don't care so much how fast the car can go but more about how fast/fun it is to get there. If i do need to see my speed when I'm going faster than 120 then I'll just use a gps. I'm happy to have a 4th gear this go around.

Got it back on the road today. Still a few bugs to work out but glad to take it around the block in over a year. Good start so far to the new year.
Even though the motor has been in there for a while now it's still makes me do a double take since i had the 383 sbc in there for so long.

I played with some c6 wheels my brother let me borrow to see if i liked how they look before he sold them off.
Classic auto air wasn't much help when it came to wiring up the trinary switch they sold me with their ac system. After a few phone calls and not being able to answer my questions on how the trinary switch works and should be wired I called tilden motorsports who built my harness and they were much more helpful and confident on explaining how the trinary switch should be hooked up. Classic auto air did finally email over some sort of a wiring diagram that halfway confirmed what tilden told told me. If anyone needs that just pm or post and I'll send it to you. Vintage air seems to have a ton of info online about their trinary switch.
Here's a quick sketch of how i wired in the switch with the ecm controlling my radiator fans. Hopefully this will help someone with a similar setup.
With that said i had to tear back into the harness to wire up the trinary switch and keep stuff clean. Took a while to find someone local to crimp the hoses for me. 4th place is a charm! Running out of space to cleanly route hoses/wires along the passenger side.

My first outting in it last friday. Drove it to work then over to alignment shop. Rear was slightly out since putting in the offset trailing arms (which i started before I began the ls3 swap).
The engine/trans tuning is a bit sloppy but it'll work for now til I get it back together with the ac working and some more miles on it.
Here's a quick video I shot test driving it the other night. It's a bit loud under throttle.

This is kinda part of my ls swap since it's grown into a while I'm there/ build thread. So I'm test fitting some new wheels. Got excited until I realized they sent me the wrong bolt pattern so I'll have to wait even longer now. At least I dont have to pay for return shipping. All I'll share at this point I'm going with an 18x10 square setup. My c5z's rears always barely stuck out and bugged me. Hopefully with sligtly less width and smaller tire theyll be pretty flush. But we'll see when the correct set comes in.
