Herby, I like this car a lot. The thing that makes it worth checking out to me would be the "complete comprehensive history" that he says it has. There is no real red flags for me other than the undercarriage spray job. I may be an hour and a half away on Sunday (8-6-17) at a swap meet...not sure if the dealer is around then. I would like to help if i can though!
See if there is a way to look at the history that he says is in his possession
Steve

I'd like to see the bonding seams and material used from the under side. Another stripped to glass, repainted, motor pulled and rebuilt, restored '69. Bet, it's not a real pipe car to boot......

Pictures make the car look solid BUT.......possibly a heavily damaged frame?

Point, it needs trained eyes, in person, on it......

That´s right, Alan, i don´t buy without a complete prior inspection, i´m too old for a daredevil

good news

the seller was very helpful and i got a lot of pics of the A pillar, calipers and brake lines, very nice! It seems like the pre owner did a good job.

And it´s not a factory SE car, probable it was modified decades ago, but this is not important to me.

Now i have to check it closer and maybe this long search is over

regards Herby

ok ok, i'll make it short ..... i did it

after the car was inspected i got a plenty of detailed pics and everything was looking good, paint in very good condition, interior ok, used, but nothing damaged, everything is working,
engine + trans running well
The description of the seller could be confirmed

brakes are overhouled

a-pillars in good condition

first i was scared about this pic, looks like rust

but it´s the back side of old, discolored adhesive

also a pic of the frame number

sure, it´s not perfect, but i think it´s a good original driver
most pics are made from the dealer, he was very helpful

finally he has dropped the price a little bit and then...

...and now there is only one big problem:

how can i survive the next 6 weeks?

Hi kh,
I can imagine how excited you must be!
Perhaps you should try to order a GM Assembly Instruction Manual, the GM Chassis Service Manual, and perhaps an Owners Manual.
If you're lucky they may get to you quickly and you can spend some time with them learning more about the car coming your way!

The bottom of the hinge pillars do look very solid!

Good Luck! I hope the time passes quickly for you.
Regards,
Alan

Just ran across this thread. Nice looking car, congrats! Welcome to the '69 club.

Original SE car or not, at least the rear valance was done properly and looks nice.

Enjoy your pretty new toy!

And don't let anybody...here or over there...tell you that you paid too much for it. Just tell them that you bought it too early!

Congrats, looks like a nice buy. It would be interesting to see the tank sticker/build sheet to see all the options.

Enjoy it!

Time to update that "I'm still looking" status to your profile's "year and model" section.
