Default Picture needed where acc. cable meets ball stud bolt 1970

Hi,

I have a 1970 vert that's being restored, and am wondering if anyone has a picture of where the accelerator cable meets the ball stud bolt at the carburetor.
How exactly is the ball stud bolt connected to the cable... is it pushed through the hole at the end of the cable, or inserted into the hole, then you need to crimp the end so it doesn't "fall out"...

I don't have the parts in front of me, so I don't know if I'm explaining this correctly, I'm simply going of the description my restorer gave me.

Thanks,
Denis

Hi Denis,
Do these show what you're looking for?
This is a 71 but I believe the 70 is similar.

Alan

You have a picture for everything Alan!!! I think that shows it... I guess my only question is... does the cable part simply slip over the ball on the bolt, or is there something to "tighten" it to make sure it doesn't slip off?

Hi Denis,
The metal fitting at the end of the cable has a small spring steel clip in it.
You can pop it onto the ball stud with your fingers and it stays in place. You can use a small screwdriver or pliers to get it off.
Regards,
Alan

Perhaps this shows it a little better. There's another little 'flange', like the one you see on top, on the bottom of the tip. They're what keeps the tip on the ball.

Hey caskiguy... just curious, since you have a '70, do you have an expansion tank on your car, or it does not have one?
If it doesn't have one, do you have a hose running from an outlet just below the radiator cap that points towards the ground and not connected to anything? Also, do you have an RC15 or RC26 radiator cap?
If you have any pictures near the radiator cap, that also shows the hose I'm talking about, that would be great...
Thanks
Denis

There is not an expansion tank on the 350V8/300HP, there was a clear hose run down the side wall held by a clip to just below the radiator. Mine is equipped with a RC26 cap.

Thanks caskiguy... it's confusing to say the least...
So is your radiator copper/brass or aluminum? I'm assuming copper/brass. When I'm reading the Corvette Restoration Guide that I have, it says... "Cars that don't have an expansion tank use an RC-15 radiator cap rated at 15 psi installed directly on the radiator. Cars with brass expansion tanks use the same cap installed on the tank. Cars with an aluminum expansion tank use an RC-26 cap, also rated at 15 psi, installed on the tank".
So I would assume that my car (and yours) would use an RC-15 since we don't have expansion tanks...

Thanks for the picture too... I can see the hose you are talking about.

AC car, no expansion tank. Hose to ground, same for my 68. RC 15 cap.

While I failed to mention having AC the guide is correct regarding psi and no tank. I bought the car drove it 30 miles home and started to dismantle it not knowing "all" the particulars of this model till I had the guide you have. The PO had someone else doing magic on the car, not much, but little things show they weren't well versed in the model. It had the original copper/brass combination radiator. I'm considering my options, Dewitt's replacement or......
I'll look for the picture of the radiator tag & clip and post it. The guide is a God send for sure along with the assembly manual.

Here are a couple of pictures of my rad and cap. I do not have a separate expansion tank.
Rad cap and hose are the original '70 cap & hose that came with the car, still in use.
