Protecting the paint when driving new resto. HELP!
I posted last week that I purchased this beauty. Only 30 miles since a full off-the-frame restoration on this totally #'s matching car. I want to drive it some (maybe 500-1,000 miles per year); however, I am terrified of trashing the paint. What do you guys recommend? The lip in front of the rear tire looks like it would catch rocks coming off the front tire. Also worried about all of the trailing wheel well lips. Please let me know what you recommend.

I would use 3M Scotchgard Paint Protection Film Pro Series. The stuff from Ecklers uses 2 sided tape. It will dry out in time and you know what old tape glue is like to try and get off without causing damage. The 3M removes without any signs it was ever there. It is what the pros use.

Thanks, Mike. I'll give it a shot. I've tinted windows before. This should be similar. I'll report results, with pics.

I just did the rear bumper on my wife's new Encore.. bought a piece of the 3M film on Amazon for $25, cut and installed myself. Can't see it unless you look close. Baby shampoo, a squeegee, and a good pair of scissors.
