We still have power here in SW Miami, although it flickers. Highest wind gusts so far have been 100 mph, most are 50-60. That is crazy when you consider the center of the eye is 130 miles away. My screen enclosure will be heading to the scrap aluminum yard and insurance no longer covers those. The vegetation is taking a real beating. High tide is due in a couple hours and the storm surge will likely flood homes along the shorelines...nothing like what is going to happen on the southwest coast though. Feel sorry for them.

In Coral Springs, 60-80 mph winds. I tried sleeping through it but my dog wont let me.
Power and internet is still on thanks to buried lines!
Screw my HOA, I parked my 40 foot RV right in front of my house with a full tank of diesel to block wind/debris from slamming my vehicles, plus I will use the generator if the power goes out.
Feeling sorry for the guys on the west coast cause it must be 2x worse.
Very sorry for the damage to your property Brian Keery, hope you are insured.
Be safe!

6.5 hour drive from Miami to Orlando Wednesday afternoon (normal traffic 4 hours). Riding out the storm here with my inlaws and my 3 year old. Rain and wind, but nothing crazy yet.
There was gas on the drive and seems to be plenty here in the orlando area. Took my wife's v6 cayenne, 600 mile highway range.
Miami should be ok. Both vettes tucked away in garage. My expedition is parked in front of garage door. Hurricane door and impact doors and windows as of a few months ago. My elevation is like 16 feet.
My parents and both if my sisters in sarasota so hoping they will be ok.

Melting Slicks
I hope for the best for everyone down there.
I moved back from Florida about a year and a half ago. I was living in Coral Springs and had my boat in the water in Pompano Beach. I only lived there about a year and a half, but made some good friends who are still there.
I was born and raised in the Houston/Galveston area. Went through Hurricane Carla in the sixties. That was a mess. It will take a long time to clean up what Harvey left behind.
Up here in Minnesota we have severe thunderstorms, hail, tornadoes, blizzards and frigid below zero temps. I guess there is no escaping mother nature.
Best wishes everyone!
Mike
