I agree on segregation, at least for the "Technical Portion" of the forum.
Simply for practical reasons.

for me this is an easy answer...I have Both, a 69 350/350 'vert and an 82 Collector edition.

Honestly...I almost don't look at them as 'two C-3 corvettes'....they are almost DIFFERENT cars.
The 69 is in a word BRUTAL...M-21 clutch like iron, manual steering manual brakes, side exhaust...When you want to scare yourself.....LOL

The 82 is LUXURIOUS.... Leather, cruise, A/C, Auto O/D, Big convenient hatch....just completely different.

Why NOT have two?....all for the cost of a pissant Honda Civic! lol.

unkahal

I don't agree on segregation, particularly for technical! More parts are similar than different, and the differences are continuous and not necessarily in step with changes in body styles.

Parts, maybe.
Tech know-how, no way.
When I search for tech answers it's difficult to sort through the irrelevant stuff for later cars.

Whatever, it's irrelevant because it's not going to be segregated anyway.

I have more HP than any stock 68-72, better styling. They are the same league AND the same team.

What the hobby is about, is appreciating/desiring/restoring/driving/collecting the car of your choice.
Whenever I attend a show (rare), I talk with the owners, I'm the most impressed with the owners, who are so passionate about their car that it is almost contagious..it could be a moded C3, or a Ford Edsel, or a '40 Ford. Those people are the ones that "get it".
Enjoy your car/s whatever they are.

I'm with you. There are a lot of technical issues that span the entire C3 line. More similarities than differences as you say.

Wow, i have been busy trying to get back to life and help others after irma and drop by for a little kinship and camaraderie and find the elitist, pompous, separatist bs running rabid,

get over it, your early car isnt better than that cats later one, and he is the better person here. Because he isnt acting the way you are.

Trolls have to be fed, i have been guilty many times of being drawn into their games, they are clever,
Trolls are angry, bitter, miserable creatures and have a misconception that belitting, bullying, and being overbearing dbags somehow makes them better,

sadly in some cases it does make these sick creatures feel better, they have twisted minds, they are right, the world is wrong,

But we see through their assinine reasoning and excuses for being how they are like its a free forum a person can say any nasty thing they desire to, that they dont come here to make friends or boast people see them as aholes ( a moniker they take pride in ) because people get their feelings hurt and dont like hearing (their version) of the truth, facts and honesty,
No matter how they package it trolls live for negativity and to disparage others

the fact is a troll has an ego the size of a mountain and as fragile as glass,
You can lead a horse to knowledge but you cant make them think,
The only kryptonite against a troll is let them starve.

I happen to own a 69 and it makes me sad that it seems the largest percent of TACOs are 68 to 72 owners,
I have also owned many other years including 72 76, two 81s etc,

And they are all wonderful cars, and since year makes zero difference to me and gm didnt make what call the perfect c3 and i have to build it, it didnt matter what year i started with, it was almost a 75 but the 69 was cheaper,

So if you think your c3 is the best, more power to you, if you feel its better than every other c3, more power to you,
But if you want to be a taco troll about it expect to be laughed at, if you want to try to make others feel badly about their car...seek help your wiring is flawed,

Now can someone point me to that kinship and camaraderie i seek?

Got it!
Thanks!
I actually met one of those this morning at a Cars & Coffee.
I went w/ my '69 and he parked his '72 next to me.
Thought it was pretty cool having 2 C3s together.
Tried talking with him 2X.
He had a F'ing attitude like I've never seen.
Finally my wife asked why I was trying so hard.
Camaro guy on the other side of me was friendly.
I talked to him.
Whatever!
