I have a 9 foot ceiling, I had the garage door rails lifted to the ceiling on the single car door where my lift sets. Works out great for two corvettes, I have 6" space between the bottom vette and another 6" on the top vette to the ceiling. When I have the 62 on the top rack I only have about 2" space to the ceiling

New Garage Addition
This is my retirement gift. I retired on Thursday.
Here is a shot of my new garage addition. It's 32x48 with 12" ceilings. The original garage is 44x31 with 11" ceilings.
Its got Hardy board siding to match the house. There are 6 garage doors and 1 man door. Both sides are spray foamed and drywalled..
I order the heat/ac unit of Friday.
There will be three 4 post lifts in the new addition for storage and three 2 post lifts (Mohawk and Rotary) in the original section as a work area.

Bob nice garage
I also plan on giving myself a retirement gift in the form of a garage in a couple of years. I have one more move to do and have told the wife that the next and final house will have to have the space and local codes for a detached 30 X 60 garage.
I too will be installing a Mohawk Lift, the A7 Asymmetric with in-ground hydraulic lines.

Burning Brakes
Since we are talking about garages, of of the main reasons I'm adding space to mine is I want a 4 post lift.
I would like to here others that have them and help me decide on brand and options.
Thanks..

Well unless you are going really high end, almost all of the standard residential Chinese lifts are made by Titan. they are oem under many, many names. I have one with the rolling jack for 2 years and have no problems with it. Bolt it to the ground, they all have redundant safety mechanisms now. It will be the best thing you could do for working on a car.

Drifting
I have an Atlas 4-post lift, 8000 pound rating, distributed by Greg Smith. Best $1750 I ever spent. It goes together quite easily, took me about 3 hours. Just ask a few friends over to help with the heavy parts.

New stainless steel covered workbench, portable two post lift and air compressor drops all over the place. Floor is next. Sharing with woodworking equipment is a real negative, always dirty!
