I was from the Cleveland,Ohio area, before retiring here. One C-1 owner watched a tow truck follow him all the way home from downtown. He drove by on his street. The guy left his Vette out, went inside and when he came out about twenty minutes later, it was gone.
Another owner told me that he was washing his Vette in the lot next to his house. Had the radio going. Went in to use the bathroom and it was gone when he came out.
Another owner told me that he had his newer C-3 for sale. A distinguished looking, well dressed couple come to look at his car. The guy say's he wants to buy the car for the wife's birthday. Ordinarily the owner would have ridden with one of them for a test drive. They convinced him to please let both of them drive the car. They had an almost new Buick and they left him it's keys. They never came back and the Buick was stolen. Lou.

Unfortunately I'm in a non-free state and a county and city that is very CCW unfriendly. So have a firearm in the car with me is somewhat out of the question. And C3's is somewhat limited to install a lock box and plus an additional locking area like a trunk. However, at home is a different story.

But yeah guard is up for sure, its too coincident that he was mimicking every turn.

FinWolf - No I didn't get his plates, I was locked in on what he looked like as I was evaluating his every move when he pulled along side me. I was thinking the worst like if he pulled a gun or any threatening manner, I would punch it and hope for the best. Yeah again to some that's paranoid but I always think the worst and hope for the best when I don't know what I'm up against. There are some crazy people out there. When news comes on, its all robbery, murders, shootings, assaults. But moving to Wyoming is about 10/15 years away and I'm so looking forward!! ;-)

I do not care how awesome your corvette is or whatever you own is, somebody following you is either a nut job, a private investigator, a cop, or a thief.

I've been in law enforcement for 25 years. When the hairs on your neck stand up or your sixth sense tells you something isn't right, pay attention because something isn't right. It's saved my life on more than one occasion. Be cautious, pay attention, especially when what you have is something somebody else wants. Don't be a creature of habit and make it easy for someone. Don't drive to or from home the same way every day. Very your patterns. If you think someone is following you, Don't Drive To Your Home. Drive away from home, to public places and dial 911. Give them your location, stay on line with dispatch and give them the make, model, color, and if possible the license plate of the car following you, plus your vehicle description. I've had numerous calls like this over the years. Most of the time it's nothing. A few times it was something involving seriously bad people. Just because you are a guy it's ok to call for help if you suspect something. We love our jobs, we love helping people, and doing stuff like this helps keep the bad guys in check and off the streets. For us this is the fun stuff and it's why we do what we do.

No you're not paranoid. I would guess that most of the time someone is following you, without you knowing about it, is for a reason that's not good. Face it, normal folks don't go around following cars, even with hot girls or guys in them.
I had a problem with someone following me. Met with a LEO. The advice I got was, if you suspect someone is following you, turn into a residential area you're familiar with and make four right hand turns. If the car is still following you, drive to a police station, letting the car follow you. If possible get the license plate, but that may be difficult. Guaranteed they will not follow you into the police station. Never drive home if someone is following you.
Keep in mind, if someone wants to find out where you live all they need is your license plate and a computer to do a reverse look up.

An old GTO convertible I had had injection on it, I rigged a series of two buttons to be pushed IN SEQUENCE to start the car.....and Ignition had to be ON, interior lights ON, then hidden button one then hidden button TWO, then and only then hit the starter......

my vette is a little bit simpler.....I used an old garage door opener electronic panel, kills the injection computer...have to hit the correct button on the remote there are 3 of them, to latch the computer into operation, the wiring is all with the same color wires...GREEN poor auto thief that even FINDS the well hidden control setup will most likely blow fuses trying to jumper the system out and steal the car.....

That poor guy with the solid axle vette, Ain't no way to beat a hook.....

but they not driving my cars....period....damnit!!!!

I do avoid confrontation as i dont want to end up hurt, in jail or dead, or live with doing a couple those to someone stupid,
But had this happened to me i would have tossed tact out the window and when he started about the car i would have ask him why he was lurking around after me,
No matter his reply he would then know i am just paranoid enough to know when im being followed,

While I am fully aware that it is firmly rooted in reality, this thread makes me sad. I hate the idea that I have to have eyes in the back of my head, take a different route home each day and/or carry a Glock 29 just because I have something that someone else wouldn't hesitate to take by force if necessary. When did this happen to our society?
