Importing C3 from US to Canada
Looking at buying a US car to import into Ontario, Canada. Government websites are a little confusing. Says 15 year old cars don't need to follow the Register Import Vehicles process. So do I just get a bill of sale from the dealer and bring to Ontario licensing office, after having declared at Us border and Canada Customs?

There's a bit more paperwork involved than just a bill of sale but nothing onerous enough that would prevent anyone from importing a vehicle into Canada. Call Canada Customs and get the info on what you need to do.

You'll get a lot more information if you post this in the Canadian section.
Or do a search in that section...lots of info.

I purchased my car about 4 years ago. I live in Sarnia and bought it in Buffalo so I drove down made the deal and on my way home stopped on American side to set up date to bring it in. Lady at desk said they could do it now which was nice but I had already set up a pick up date 3 days later. SO I had to make another trip no biggie but be prepared the customs will want to see how you found car and will check Craig's List etc. In the end went pretty well Phil

TFX is excellent for bringing it over the border.
If you want door to door service and don't want to do anything yourself, they take care of everything.
Expensive but worth it if you don't want to bother with it.

Curious if it's any easier to bring a car from Canada into the States? I've seen a few in Canada that with the exchange rate could make an interesting purchase.
