Default Upgrades and Sunday Drive.

So after some thought, i pulled the diffy and the 180 soft ride composite spring. Tossed the 3.08 gears in favour of 3.55 gears and a 9 leaf stock steel leaf spring. I also got rid of the 295/50/15 rear and 215/70/15 fronts went back to stock wheels and 255/60/15 rubber.

Car drives way better, handles like it should, and doesnt bottom out on bumps in the road. The rpm is 500 rpm higher than before, no big deal. Car boils the rear tires lol and accelerates way better making the car more enjoyable to drive daily. It pulls to the left under braking, i guess there may be air in one of the calipers? I will have to re-bleed them again see whats up? Had a new 4 wheel alignment done as well with factory rubber all good there. Went out and put 65 miles on it this morning out for a Sunday cruise.

That's a beautiful paint color on your car.

For a car pulling to the left under braking with fresh tires and good alignment , I would check the right front caliper and flex hose first. It could be air in that caliper or the flex hose expanding.

When i did the body off rebuild of the car, i replaced all the brake lines with steel braided lines i am more apt to think its air? I pulled the wheels off to inspect, and the pads do float freely on the one pin, there is a slight bit of calliper drag but thats to be expected.

Thanks. The paint was like that when i bought the car. Its an old school candy red with a burnt orange set of flames on the front that blend into the red. Its showing its age, but i like it and what the hell might as well chip up old paint i dont feel so bad about it.

Hello Sheldon - your '80 is looking awesome - must have turned a few heads on the street. Did you also manage to get the Duster out for a spin too??

Regards, BK3

Brake problem solved. Re- bled front brakes, checked and the front master was almost empty? Not sure why there have been no leaks? anyway car no longer pulls to the left under braking.
