Default Parking brake handle replacement

Does anybody have pictures of how to remove and replace the parking brake handle? There is an old thread, but the pictures are no longer available. Thanks in advance!

here's a thread with a picture showing the most difficult part, the screw at the back of the console which is reached through the compartment where the jack is stowed. The two side screws you should be able to remove by pushing down on the seat.

Thank you, but I am actually looking for how to disconnect the parking brake handle and install a new one. The console is off already.

did you release the tension on the cable by going under the car and loosening the adjustment at the equalizer? Once that is done you remove the 4 bolts holding the parking brake down and disconnect the cable.

Hi M,
Are you replacing just the handle or the handle and ratchet mechanism?
Regards,
Alan

Didn't know you could replace handle only. The black bakelight on my handle is cracked so I bought a new handle. Thought I needed to replace entire handle.

Hi,
I still don't understand what you bought or want to accomplish…. replace the handle (chrome and black), or the handle and ratchet mechanism
What did you buy?
Regards,
Alan

Hi M,
Ah!
This is the 'pin' the handle pivots on.
It needs to be driven out using a punch and hammer, the new handle put in place , and then the pin driven back into place.
Regards,
Alan
