Late C3 seat back pitch question (78 - 82)
Just bought an 80 Corvette with stock seats. The seat back pitch is non adjustable on my seats, they lay back way to far, and I think this is incorrect. When I look inside the hinge I see teeth which suggests to me that the seat back pitch should be adjustable. Can someone show me how that hinge is supposed to work and is it possible to buy a replacement hinge or do I need a whole new seat frame? I asked about new hinges because the driver side hinge is held together with a nut and bolt, it doesn't match the passenger side, for now I've adjusted the pitch by sticking bolts and washers behind the seat to prop it up but I'd really like a more permanent solution.

I'll be taking my seats apart soon for some repainting of the clamshells. I'll see what I can do about a spacer or possibly even welding some tabs on the hinges.

My friend bought an '82 when they first came out. I sure don't remember the seats leaning back this far or being uncomfortable in his car.

You just learn to live with it or you buy aftermarket seats? I am 5'9" and to be honest if i wasnt laid back in the seat i would find it hard to see out the windshield and actually drive the car.
