It maybe the picture, but the color could be Fathom Green 983 with 427 Green interior. That makes more sense.

So what you're saying is, somebody did a repaint on that car, and PURPOSELY painted it burgundy???

Sheet happens. The PO of my 80 painted it maroon because he said he always wanted a maroon Corvette. He left the dark blue interior intact.

Yes, a car almost 50 yrs old was probably painted at least once in it's life. The original owner did not want to go the expanse of changing the interior color. It makes more sense that GM building a burgundy car with green interior.

The burgundy and green combination would have cost GM nothing since they already had the paint and the upholstery. GM was able to sell a Corvette and that made perfect sense to GM.

No, its 988 Burgundy.
Here is a clearer picture. The first pic I downloaded was the lower quality picture from Craigslist.

I do not think the car has been repainted. Just a feeling.

Also, not exactly sure how original the car really is. It may not have the original motor (I know the add says matching numbers but it also says all original and its not ALL original) the wood steering wheel is not original. With no engine pics anything could be under the hood and/or missing. It COULD be very original. I feel its just historically significant. But I'm not spending 16 on it.

I don't know fellas. Not a great combo but unique. If the drivetrain is original and the frame is in decent shape, 16k for an L46 with AC, rare if not one off color combo, is a pretty good deal in my opinion.
Has anyone contacted the seller?

Someone mentioned a 68 earlier that had a goofy combo. I remember that car. 68 L-79 convertible ( I think). British Green with Tobacco interior COPO. VERY original car. It was at Carlisle a few years back for sale. Truthfully I really liked it. The seller was a bit too steep for me at the time.

GM was usually okay with non-recommended color combinations provided there was no cost to GM.
