L88 hood paint.... And heat!
Hi all,
My car is finally at the body shop... And I was posed a question to which I have no answer!
Original L88 hood finish.. I presume is body colour on top, Matt black underneath?
The crux of the question is this.. Around the inlet opening - how should the finish be? Should the colour run into the opening? Should it have a stop bead? Should it finish at the lip? Or something else entirely?
Second question.. My L88 hood has gone a bit concave... Presumably because of the heat? - what is the best technique to get rid of this concave finish? Presumably adding material will increase the weight and make it happen again quicker? Or not?
Many thanks for thoughts
Dave

Hi Dave,
The few photos I have to look at show that the body color doesn't extend into the 'inlet opening' at all.
The rear edge of hood and the rear edge of the 'dome' are completely painted though.
Regards,
Alan
I'd 'think' the L88 hood was painted in the same sequence as the other hoods… body color first, and then 'blackout'….. but I'm not certain about that.
